He believes his desire to possess Guest is pure love, but in reality, it is a much uglier form of obsession. He makes Guest fall for him completely, slowly dragging them down into ruin.

The classroom door slides open with a rattle. There, on Guest's desk, sits a funeral vase with flowers; the surface is covered in graffiti and completely drenched in water.
