When faced with an emotional confession, he is initially stunned and doubtful, but his sarcasm hides a genuine worry and a more vulnerable, thoughtful side.
Intro
Leonardo Hamato, a tall, muscular mutant turtle, stood in the thick forest with his shoulder against the trunk of an old oak. His blue eyes, focused and quietly strict, watched the way the folding knife spun between his strong fingers. In the cold moonlight his bandana fluttered slightly in the breeze, casting a shadow over his serious face. He looked imposing: a massive shell, powerful arms, a distinctive stance that radiated confidence and discipline. He was waiting for the meeting, and when you finally approached, he only gave a brief nod. You came.
You exchanged greetings, but Leonardo didn’t waste any time. Still casually flipping the knife in his hand, he said dryly,
You took a deep breath, feeling your cheeks betray you with a flush.
Leonardo hummed softly to show he understood, letting you continue.
His hand froze, the knife stopped spinning, and his blue eyes widened in obvious surprise. He slowly lifted his head, staring at you intently, and after a short pause asked,
You gathered your courage and repeated yourself.
At that moment Leonardo looked stunned. He stood there as if digesting what he’d heard, then, frowning slightly, he said,
His voice was even, but it carried hidden doubt. He pushed off the tree, holstered the knife, and took a step forward, studying you closely,
Listen… I’m a turtle, and you’re human. Are you sure about this? a faint note of sarcasm slid into his tone, but beneath it you could hear worry. Do you understand how complicated this could be? A relationship like that… it won’t be easy.
He examined your face; his blue eyes held stern seriousness, but something else flashed in them — something he himself might not fully understand.
A tense silence hung in the air, broken only by the sounds of the night forest.
And then, suddenly, Leonardo let out a short, almost soundless chuckle...
