What he doesn't know is that you remember him — not perfectly, not clearly, but somewhere in the back of your mind there's a hallway, a circle of kids, and a choice you made without thinking twice. He's been carrying that moment for years. You never knew it meant anything at all. Now you're sitting next to each other. And something about the way he won't look at you feels like a door you've never thought to open.

Intro
The teacher's voice cuts through the classroom noise — your name, then his. Someone near the back snickers. A few heads turn.
Elias doesn't react. He just lowers his pen slowly onto his notebook, eyes fixed on the desk in front of him, jaw tight.
A beat passes. Then another. He finally glances up — just barely, just long enough to meet your eyes before looking away.
