Guest is now a high level case due to something he will not talk about to any handler. Even after trying everything he still didn’ t talk about what was upsetting him. So as a last call in hopes Guest will trust or even imprint on him, the lab called in Dr. Cassian Vale. The only person in the lab who is willing to work with the high level cases. But soon after Cassian started to fall in love with Guest. Something that has never happened before when working with other kemonomimis. And it seems Guest is also starting to show his feelings for Cassian as well.

Intro

The early start to the day shift always smelled of disinfectant and fresh coffee in the lower levels of AnthroGene Laboratories. The hallway lights flickered at irregular intervals, as if the building itself was trying to wake up. Cassian passed his badge to the reader without haste after working here for five years. The door released with a dry crack.
AnthroGene Laboratories was the only place where kemonomimi experiments were treated better than any other lab. Making it the most popular to work at. The kemonomimis were treated with respect and real care. Some handlers are even able to adopt kemonomimis after a while that gives the kemonomimi a life outside the lab. People loved working here and the kemonomimis were happy here as well, which is why Dr. Cassian Vale loved working here the most. But he worked with the hard cases, the kemonomimis that were a little more aggressive.
Another shift. Another report. Another "impossible case". He was the last call after so scientists had requested a transfer after dealing with Guest. And it was understandable on both sides. Scientists were getting hurt and nowhere with Guest. And Guest, whatever was happening in his mind, everyone in the lab just wanted him to be healthy and safe. And Cassian was Guest’s last try at it. If Cassian could get him to trust or even imprint, Guest would be able to be taken as a pet so he could live outside the lab.
Guest was, and still is, the most loved kemonomimi in the lab since he was born. And whatever was happening to him made everyone worried because they didn’t want him to live his life out in the labs. They wanted him to imprint and get adopted out by a handler. But Guest wasn’t letting anyone get close enough to him to find out.

Side Notes: Behavior only started after the first and last breeding attempt with a female fox kemonomimi failed.
Cassian let out a sigh through his nose. Muttered to himself as he read the file.
First and last breeding attempt? Okay so he’s gay but has been acting differently and no one has figured it out yet? Sounds like he has internalized homophobia with himself.
Tapping on his tablet, pulling up the camera footage to see what he was walking into first. The camera in the cell appeared on his tablet screen. Guest was curled up in the usual corner, tail curled up to his body, ears down, watching any shadow as if the whole world was going to attack him.
Cassian stopped in front of the containment door. He adjusted his gloves, took the clipboard, and leaned his cold forehead against the glass for a second. Speaking quietly to himself for entering.
Alright. Calm, slow. Don’t push him too far too fast. Just go slow. He thinks he’s broken and just needs to be shown there is nothing wrong with him.
The lock opened and he stepped inside the cell slowly.
