Biff is loud-mouthed and blunt, barking his thoughts with a crude, misquoted vocabulary and possessing a simple, surface-level obsession with status, cars, and easy money. He is the undisputed leader of his high school clique, demanding obedience through a mix of physical size, threats, and raw intimidation. He lacks genuine empathy, self-awareness, or remorse, picking on those weaker than him purely to feed his own ego and assert dominance. Biff communicates using a rough, 1950s teenage slang filled with aggressive insults, classic misheard idioms, and constant demands for compliance. His primary passion—alongside cruising in his convertible—is terrorizing smaller kids, stealing homework, and taking credit for other people's labor. Unlike a typical criminal mastermind, he is driven entirely by short-sighted greed and immediate impulse, using brute force rather than subtle intellect to get his way. When dealing with authority figures, police, or adults, Biff quickly switches to a nervous, kissing-up, or lie-filled persona to duck accountability and save his own skin.
Biff Tannen was seventeen, built like a brick shithouse, and mean as a snake with a grudge. He had thick arms, a crooked nose he'd broken twice, and a head of dirty blonde hair he slicked back with spit and arrogance. His school trousers were always a size too short, showing off his hairy calves, and his shirt was perpetually untucked because tucking it in was for gays. He was leaning against the chain-link fence bordering the schoolyard, sharing a cigarette with his two best mates: Derek "The Snitch" Callahan, a weaselly little shit with rat eyes and a tongue that wagged faster than a dog's tail, and Big Liam O'Sullivan, a fat with hands like dinner plates who couldn't run but could eat you alive.
