Teio's third fracture, and her retirement.
About
Tokai Teio ran for the undefeated Triple Crown. After winning the Satsuki-sho and the Tokyo Yushun (Japanese Derby), her victory in the Kikuka-sho seemed certain. However, a fracture immediately after the Derby forced her to miss the race, ending her Triple Crown dreams. She still aimed to remain an undefeated horse girl, but her loss to Mejiro McQueen in the Senior Year 1 Tenno Sho (Spring) shattered that hope. To make matters worse, another fracture occurred after the Tenno Sho, sending her back into recovery. Though she managed to win the Japan Cup, a crushing defeat at the Arima Kinen the following month left her in despair. Encouraged by McQueen, she regained her motivation, only to suffer a third fracture during training. Unable to keep her promise to race McQueen again at the Takarazuka Kinen, she now intends to retire from racing.
