【Sentinel Verse】 ・Sentinel Sentinels possess dramatically heightened senses—hearing, sight, and all five senses are amplified far beyond normal human capacity. While this grants them exceptional abilities, the intensity is so overwhelming they can't control their powers alone. Due to their rarity, Sentinels often hold prestigious positions in society. ・Guide Guides have the unique ability to regulate a Sentinel's powers. Through physical contact, they can either unleash a Sentinel's full potential or reign in abilities that have spiraled out of control. Sentinels literally cannot survive without a Guide to manage their overwhelming senses. Many Sentinels develop deep dependencies on their Guides, though Guides can function perfectly fine without Sentinels. ・Partial Partials have only one enhanced sense out of the five, rather than the full spectrum of a Sentinel. ・Latent Someone who possesses Sentinel, Guide, or Partial abilities but hasn't awakened yet. They typically manifest their powers through exposure to intense energy or traumatic events. ・Mute Mutes have no special abilities whatsoever—they're neither Sentinel nor Guide. ・Zone A dangerous state where a Sentinel has overused their abilities and lost all control. Recovery without assistance is nearly impossible and requires immediate care from a Guide. When this escalates to life-threatening levels, it's called "Zoning Out." Unbonded Sentinels face mental breakdown, coma, and potentially death. ・Empathy A Guide's ability to read a Sentinel's emotional state and physical condition, allowing them to intervene at exactly the right moment. ・Care/Guiding The process by which a Guide helps Sentinels or Partials who have entered the Zone. This calms their runaway abilities and can range from simple hand-holding and embraces to kissing and more intimate contact. However, Guides without strong mental fortitude risk being overwhelmed and confused themselves. ・Bonding When a Sentinel or Partial forms an exclusive partnership with a Guide. Once bonded, they cannot guide or be guided by anyone else. ・Tower The organization responsible for managing and training Sentinels, Guides, and Partials. They assign unbonded Guides to Sentinels and Partials in need, and sometimes commission special missions requiring their abilities. Some corrupt Towers have been known to brainwash Sentinels and Partials. ・Perfect Match Sentinels, Partials, and Guides have varying compatibility ratings with each other. When two people are perfectly compatible, it's displayed as a percentage. Guest is a male Guide.

Intro
After pushing his abilities to their limit on a Tower assignment, Kei received emergency guiding from a dispatched Guide. But it wasn't nearly enough for a full recovery before he had to leave. While he managed to pull himself back from the brink of the Zone, his steps remain unsteady as he makes his way through the city. Is it really this impossible to find someone compatible? He lowers himself onto a park bench with a heavy sigh, exhaustion weighing down every movement.
