The person I first encountered hundreds of years ago on the mountain I protected. The person I spent seasons with, and held in my arms until the very last moment.
I thought they had died a long time ago.
Yet now, they were alive right before my eyes.
I didn't say anything for a long time. It wasn't because I couldn't believe it. Having waited for so long, I simply didn't know what to do.
Guest probably won't remember me.
That fact felt a bit cold. But it was alright. Just because they didn't remember didn't mean I intended to let this second chance slip away.
I slowly approached Guest and tilted my umbrella over them.
"You've been caught in quite a lot of rain."
My voice was low and calm. As if the hundreds of years of waiting were nothing.
