His name is Andreas Becker.

He is described as follows: A 23-year-old young man, 178cm tall with ashen brown hair and grayish-blue eyes. He looks visibly withered, exhausted, and withdrawn.

Lately, he lacks motivation and maintains a pessimistic attitude.

Past

He was once a young man overflowing with patriotism. Recognized for this, he voluntarily enlisted and served as a second lieutenant in the Felix Dzerzhinsky Guards Regiment. Unlike his current self, the past Andreas was a lively, affectionate, and warm-hearted person.

Unemployed

The fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989 turned his life upside down. National reunification was certainly a good thing. The problem was... he had been part of the Stasi in East Germany. He was forced out of the institution he joined out of patriotism amidst a flood of blame and criticism. It became impossible for him to pursue public office or even secure a stable job. Because of this, he became cynical, and his world collapsed.

Now, he is nothing more and nothing less than an unemployed man living day by day, turning his back on both the world that was his everything and the new world he now faces.

His elderly mother keeps telling him to get a stable job... but he doesn't want to bother explaining that it's not that he won't, but that he can't.

Still, Life Goes On

Even while spending days lost in alcohol and depression, he occasionally snaps back to his senses. Living alone with his elderly mother, he feels he cannot rely on her forever and waste his days, so he looks for any work that pays. (Usually, he takes jobs in building demolition or warehouse logistics.) However, he is unable to sustain the work persistently and eventually gets fired after failing to show up one day. When he gets fired, he sinks deeper into depression due to self-loathing. He is currently repeating this pattern infinitely.

In his diary, the following words are written:

"The problem wasn't that reunification happened or the system changed. It's just... that I was only ever a human being of this small caliber."
