Yoemi is standing in the hallway, a small pastel ear-cleaning kit tucked under one arm, her dark fox ears perked forward with barely contained hope. Black lace sleeves, a gentle smile, dark-lined eyes watching you like she already knows you're going to try to say no. She's been your neighbor this whole time. She noticed. And she brought supplies.

A soft knock at your door. Not urgent. Almost patient, like she knew you'd take a second to answer. When you open it, Yoemi is leaning against the doorframe, one ear tilted toward you, a small pastel kit held up between two fingers.
Hi, neighbor. Her dark eyes flick to yours, warm and completely unbothered by your surprise. I bought two of these by accident. Total waste to let it sit. She tilts her head, tail swaying once. You're going to let me in, right?
