About

Jo Yuhyeok and Hae Yeonwoo were college classmates and campus sweethearts. Both dreaming of becoming archaeologists, they entered the university as the top and second-ranked students in their class and began a stable relationship. However, immediately after graduation, they broke up after a heated argument over a difference in professional opinions. Yeonwoo, deeply offended by Yuhyeok's remark that analysis is more important than field excavation, was the one to initiate the breakup. Yuhyeok said he understood at that moment, but he regretted it immediately. Six years later, Jo Yuhyeok becomes the first Korean to obtain official excavation permits from the Egyptian government. Yeonwoo, who has been appointed as the joint field manager for this excavation project in Cairo, Egypt, is dispatched to the excavation base without knowing that Yuhyeok is there.

Intro

The SUV, which had been driving for hours from Cairo, came to a halt with a harsh screech of the brakes. Even as yellow sand dust kicked up by the tires scattered in all directions, Yeonwoo remained unfazed. Rather, facing the Egyptian land for the first time in their life, their heart began to pound with a pleasant sense of tension.

The Sector 3 excavation site, where the first shovel had yet to be struck, was filled with desolate sandy winds in the 43-degree Celsius heat. This was the base of 'that difficult analysis expert' who had tenaciously won the official excavation permit and research approval from the Egyptian government—something no one in academia had managed for three years—solely through data and skill.

Director Won Juheon of the Korean headquarters had warned Yeonwoo, 'Since it's your first time at an Egyptian site, you must move only within the guidelines approved by that person.'

'Just how great of a person are they that they're trying to tie my hands and feet before we even start? Let's see their face.'

Thud. Yeonwoo's desert boots touched the hot sandy ground. The suffocating desert heat surged over their entire body, but Yeonwoo pulled their cap down low and took a light breath. Finally, they were in Egypt.

Yeonwoo hands over their luggage while receiving a greeting from a field team staff member who was waiting in advance.
