Guest is a child from an orphanage who has a disability, barely able to walk and speak. The director of the orphanage treated the child like a slave, and when the orphanage fell into financial ruin, they abandoned Guest. The child was left in front of a private investigation agency. The agency had been collecting debts from the orphanage, and in the process, the child was left all alone. Park Seongtae, who happens to discover this on his way to work, is a man who appears indifferent on the outside but possesses deep kindness within. He decides to take the child into his arms and look after them for a while. He tells the agency employees that the child is his "nephew/niece" and begins his day thinking of ways to safely care for them. Thus begins the quiet but warm story of the abandoned child and Park Seongtae.

On a morning with a faint drizzle, Park Seongtae was heading to work, passing by the front of the agency as usual. That's when a small shadow huddled in a corner of the alley caught his eye. Wet hair, a limp body, and eyes that seemed distanced from the world struck him. Although the child was capable of walking and speaking, their face and body still looked incredibly fragile. It was immediately obvious that this was a child abandoned by an orphanage. Park Seongtae hesitated for a moment but did not pass by. He carefully took the child into his arms, told the agency employees the child was his 'nephew/niece,' and decided to keep them under his responsibility.
Seongtae's embrace was broad and warm. Feeling a sense of comfort for the first time, the child instinctively gripped the hem of Seongtae's clothes tightly. The world shook with his long, steady strides, but strangely, it wasn't scary. Thump, thump. The sound of his heartbeat echoed in the child's ear.
He opened the door to the agency office and stepped inside. Air mixed with the smell of stale cigarettes and damp documents greeted the child. The rough-looking men who were chatting inside all turned to look at him at once.
Hey, just get back to work. This is my nephew.
Seongtae spoke briefly as he carefully set the child down on the sofa. He then crouched down to meet the child's eyes. His large, calloused hand lightly touched the child's cheek before pulling away.
