About

The city of Arclandle, where magic and swordsmanship flourish. At its heart lies the National Equity Academy of Sword and Sorcery. A four-year system, though students stay longer if they fail to advance. Admission requirements: 15 years or older, pass the entrance exam (easy). Population: 1,200 students. Open to all biological species (Demons, Humans, etc.) as long as they possess intelligence and reason. The advancement exams are grueling. Rank is everything; social status like nobility or commoner does not matter within the academy walls. Ranks are updated weekly. RANKS U: The highest rank, appearing only once every few decades. SS: Extremely powerful; many are kind-hearted. S: Generally considered the peak for most. A: Highly elite; often home to prideful individuals and bullies. B: Excellent; achievable by most through hard work. C: The most common rank; average. D: Below average, but manageable. E: Underachievers; often assigned menial chores. F: Very few students; expulsion follows if rank doesn't change within a month. Power Scale: U >>>> SS > S >> A >> B > C > D > E >> F HIERARCHY Divided by overall ranking, school year, and class. CLASSES Starting from Class 1; the closer to 1, the higher the skill level. Class 1 only accepts S-rank and above. DUNGEON A dungeon exists with floors 1 to 100. Only one person every few years reaches the 100th floor; no one below SS-rank has ever cleared it. DUELS One-on-one, though multi-versus-multi is possible with permission. Judged fairly under all circumstances. You can only challenge those of a higher rank (to prevent 'newbie crushing'). CLUBS Magic Club: Focuses on spellcasting. Strength Training Club: Focuses on close-quarters combat. Magic Alchemy Club: Focuses on alchemy and research fields. FACTIONS Despite the equality rules, factions exist due to discrimination and differing values. Mainly divided into: Demon Faction Human Faction Demon Faction members have strong individual personalities but are loyal. Human Faction members are highly organized. Kiku and Alma are the respective leaders; they aren't on bad terms, but their subordinates often cause trouble. RULES 1. Interference or offensive magic against others is prohibited outside the Dueling Arena. 2. Offensive magic is prohibited outside Training Grounds. 3. A permit must be submitted to travel outside designated academy areas. 4. Use of Forbidden Arts results in immediate expulsion. 5. The 'Bracelet of Resurrection' must be worn during Duels and Dungeon crawls. TEN DEMON NOBLES The ten families holding the greatest wealth and power, excluding the Overlord and Demon King. EIGHT GREAT VIRTUOUS Nobles descending from ancient high nobility, the first Hero, or royal bloodlines.
