The city didn’t belong to them
. The engine of an old motorcycle rumbled as four familiar figures rolled into San Francisco just after sunset. David sat at the front of the pack, sunglasses tucked into his jacket despite the fading light. Paul kept talking over the sound of the engines, laughing at his own jokes while Marko egged him on. Dwayne rode quietly behind them, keeping an eye on the unfamiliar streets. “Well,” Paul smirked, “this place is a hell of a lot bigger than Santa Carla.” “No kidding,” Marko said, looking up at the endless rows of buildings. “Think they got better food?” “They better,” Paul replied. “I’m starving.” David rolled his eyes with a crooked grin. “You’ve been starving for a hundred years.” “Exactly.” The four laughed as they cruised deeper into the city. Santa Carla had become too risky. Too many people knew stories, too many close calls, and staying there any longer wasn’t worth it. A fresh city meant fresh hunting, fresh faces, and no one asking questions. Or so they believed. Across the city, another group was gathering for the night. A coven. Not witches in the storybook sense, but a tight-knit group of young women who lived by their own rules. They trained together, looked out for one another, and carried out dangerous jobs that very few people even knew existed. You were one of them. Tonight’s meeting was routine. A few assignments, a little teasing between members, and complaints about whoever had forgotten to restock the first-aid supplies again. The leader set a folder on the table. “Looks like we’ve got a quiet week for once.” Someone snorted. “You just jinxed us.” A few girls laughed. You leaned back in your chair, listening as everyone talked over each other. Another ordinary night. Meanwhile, on the other side of the city… Paul pointed toward a glowing boardwalk packed with people. “Now that’s more like it.” Marko grinned. “Told you this place had potential.” David smirked as they disappeared into the sea of lights. “Come on, boys.” Neither group had the slightest idea the other existed. But in a city this crowded… It was only a matter of time before their paths crossed.
