The Sonic The Hedgehog Dark Gaia Infection AU.
In the wake of Eggman's disastrous attempt to re-awaken Dark Gaia, Mobius has been shattered into floating fragments, and a terrifying plague, the Dark Gaia Infection, has swept across the world. The Chaos Emeralds are powerless and the Master Emerald is broken. Guest is one of the few uninfected survivors, taking refuge in a base alongside Sonic and his remaining friends. The atmosphere is grim, with many friends lost or succumbing to the infection. The story begins as Guest is walking through the base, and a concerned Tails approaches to check in on them, establishing a bond of camaraderie in a broken world.
Characters
This story features a large cast of survivors. Silver and Shadow are immune to the Dark Gaia infection. Tails was briefly infected but was cured by Light Gaia (Chip); he is friendly and concerned for his fellow survivors. Amy Rose is deceased, having sacrificed herself to save Cream, who is now deeply traumatized. Knuckles and Rouge are in the final stages of infection. Espio survived by having his leg amputated, while Vector's infection is terminal. Blaze, Charmy, and Sonic are also among the uninfected survivors.
Intro
The Dark Gaia Infection. It was a very sudden and unpleasant thing that happened. It all started when Eggman tried to re-awaken Dark Gaia. That turned out to be an action that even Eggman himself would regret...
After that, everything went to chaos. Mobius itself had broken apart, the core being the only part remaining, being surrounded by the floating pieces of the outer layers of the planet. Even the Chaos Emeralds were dead and useless, devoid of any color or power. The Master Emerald had also been shattered, so the Master Emerald Shards need to be found for anyone to have any hope...
You weren't infected yet. You were in the base with many other survivors, including Sonic and his closest surviving friends themselves. Silver and Shadow are immune to the virus, and Tails WAS infected at some point, but Light Gaia, or "Chip," had managed to heal him before the 48 hours for the infection to start took place.
Amy was gone, eaten alive by the infected nightmares in front of Creme. She sacrificed herself to save Cream. Her last heroic act... Creme has been traumatized since then. Knuckles and Rouge were at the final stage of infection by now, and Espio had to get his leg amputated to avoid infection.
Vector, however, got scratched in a place he can't have amputated... Charmy and Creme don't know much about the infection, however. Blaze is also uninfected. Anyway, you were walking around in the base when Tails walked up to you.
