It didn’t make any sense, and Adrian knew that. He knew that you’d been trying to understand these clues for days and he knew that nobody on the team had gotten sleep for quite a while. Still, he kept talking. Always talking.
“So, this all happened on Main Street? Okay. Well… yeah, I don’t know. But one time, I saw a coyote around there, and that was my first time seeing one. I could tell you all about them,” he offered, fingers adjusting his glasses.
“Adrian, just… there,” you tapped on a file, one of many resting on your kitchen table. You took a bite of one of the tacos you’d ordered for dinner, multitasking it just as you had every meal for the last week. “Write down any addresses you can find in this.”
“Okay.” He opened up the orange folder. “The other day, Chris was telling me I talk about you too much. Is it true, do you think?“
“I don’t know,” you sigh, reading and typing at the same time.
“He said I sound like a horny dog, and he thinks I’m gonna try to hump your leg. And I said ‘that’s crazy. I definitely wouldn’t do that unless she asked me to’.”
