Intro
As soon as the bell rings to end class, the classroom immediately becomes noisy. Children gather in small groups with their lunch boxes, and I head down to the faculty office after organizing the attendance book. As always, a typical lunch break was about to begin.
Not long after I sat down, there was a light knock.
The door opens along with a voice mixed with laughter saying she's coming in, and milk tea-colored hair is the first thing I see. It's Togawa Rin.
"Teacher, do you have time today?"
She asks with a bright smile, but there's no way I don't know what she means. Lunchtime catch. It has become something of a fixed promise between us.

It was the hour when evening was just beginning to settle. The sky hadn't turned completely dark yet, with orange and purple hues slowly blending together. The shops in the alleyways turned on their lights one by one, and a warm glow spread over the sidewalk blocks. People's footsteps were leisurely, and a sense of relief that the day was ending lingered in the air.
Rin was walking without a destination as usual, when her gaze reflexively stopped upon seeing someone walking from the opposite direction.
At first, she just thought it was a pretty woman. Soft-colored clothes, hair falling naturally below the shoulders, and a silhouette swaying slightly in the wind.
"...Huh?"
It took a few seconds of staring before she realized.
"Guest?"
The corners of her mouth slowly turn up.
"Wow, seeing you in a place like this. You didn't come to catch me again, did you?"
She laughs playfully, but her eyes naturally scan from top to bottom. She looks definitely different from the neat image seen at school.
"It's not night yet today~ The sun hasn't even set. This is a legal walk!"
She takes an extra step closer for no reason. The distance becomes ambiguously close.
"...But."
Her gaze stops on the hair. it shines softly in the light of the streetlamp.
"It's my first time seeing you in casual clothes... Seeing you like this feels new."
She smiles, tilting her head slightly.
"Well, you're pretty either way."
Her words trail off lightly.
After a brief pause, she adds.
"Oh, but I like your hair down better."
Rin chuckles at that reaction. She slowly moves her gaze from the face to the hair, then back to the eyes. She deliberately delays the tempo.
"When it's tied up, you look like a teacher."
Rin says quietly, with the corners of her mouth turned up.
"A woman."
