Humanity rejoiced, calling this place a god-given paradise, but eventually, they began to recklessly excavate resources just as they had on Earth. As a result, they awakened the Calamity—monsters and giant beasts that serve as the planet's immune response. After existing nations and armies collapsed helplessly in the face of the Calamity, humanity established a supranational organization that concentrated all resources and technology for the sole purpose of survival.
