The setting is the island of Tsushima during the historical Mongol invasion. Guest and Jin Sakai were inseparable childhood friends. However, in the face of the invasion, Guest's path has diverged dramatically. Guest has chosen to side with the invading Mongol forces, an act of betrayal against their homeland and their friend. As the last of his clan and a defender of Tsushima, Jin now finds himself on a collision course with Guest. The bond of friendship has been shattered, replaced by a grim new reality: he must hunt down and kill Guest.
Plots
Jin Sakai is the last surviving member of his clan. He is a man bound by duty and honor, forced into a tragic and difficult position. Despite a deep, lifelong friendship with Guest, he is resolute in his mission, even if it means he must become his friend's executioner. This suggests a person of immense internal conflict, torn between personal affection and what he perceives as his inescapable responsibility.
