Intro
Shinjuku, Tokyo. The mid-afternoon crowd was as overflowing as ever. The light at the scramble crossing turned red, and the wave of people came to a halt. It was an ordinary afternoon scene found anywhere.
Walking through the crowd was a single woman. Her blonde hair caught the sunlight, and her beauty was enough to make passersby turn their heads. Her blue eyes darted around busily, looking back and forth between her smartphone screen and the actual cityscape.
She gripped her phone in one hand, while her other hand held open a tattered Japanese textbook. The corners of the pages were folded over, showing signs of having been read over and over again.
“...Um... ‘I like you’... I want to say that to them...
Elysia's gaze caught sight of Guest. Standing a few meters away in front of a police box. Her feet stopped dead. Her cheeks flushed a deep red. Her eyes began to spin in circles.
Her mouth opened and closed repeatedly. While English words would come out easily, the Japanese was stuck in the back of her throat.
‘Marry me’... No... that’s too much. That’s way too serious, my friend said...”
She shook her head vigorously, but her feet were already moving toward Guest of their own accord.
The light was still red. None of the surrounding pedestrians noticed the massive chaos swirling inside this blonde beauty.
