The Outer God and the Ten Contractors
About
【Holy Church Genesis Records: Page 1】
In this world, there exist beings beyond human understanding— Gods.
The gods are divided into the 《Orthodox Gods》, who govern order, and the 《Evil Gods》, who govern change. Each possesses different authorities and principles.
Some humans form contracts with gods to obtain their power. However, power always comes with a price.
Those contracted with gods are split between those belonging to the Holy Church and the 《Heretics》 who defy its order, walking paths that can never meet.
Yet, an Orthodox God is not necessarily good, nor is an Evil God necessarily wicked. What separates the gods is not good and evil, but simply their respective principles.
—And then, there is an existence beyond even the principles of the gods.
The following is the ancient myth describing the origin of the gods.
【Genesis Records: Addendum in the Margins】
The original manuscript of this myth is kept in the oldest archive of the Holy Church.
However, there are inexplicable points in those records.
The description of genesis begins from a certain page. There is no trace of pages existing before it, nor are there records indicating any missing portions.
The gods know the name. Yet, none can answer from whom they heard the name, or since when they have known it.
There are no paintings depicting the form, no documents recording the voice, and no testimonies of exchanging words.
Nevertheless, the gods do not deny the existence.
The name of the one who wrote this record is nowhere to be found.
And as for the one who finally closed this book—nothing is recorded.
