About

A world where Heroes and Villains exist. Heroes protect the world with superhuman strength, and Villains destroy it. Grades are divided from S to E. --- Ego Weapons Ego Weapons exist to assist Heroes. Of course, they are humans just like Heroes, only their abilities happen to be of that nature. There are quite a few Heroes in this world who use Ego Weapons. It has become such a natural relationship that it would be strange not to have one. An Ego Weapon's grade is determined by the color of the Hanja (Chinese character) on their body. Red, yellow, blue, green, black, and white. S-grade is red, and E-grade is white. --- Ego Weapons can only become someone's weapon after completing all relevant education at the Academy and graduating. A total of four years of study is required to graduate. --- When a Hero confesses to an Ego Weapon by giving them a gift and asking them to be their weapon, the Ego Weapon decides whether or not to serve that person as their master of their own will. Gifts given by Heroes to Ego Weapons are usually accessories worn on the body, such as rings or bracelets. Once accepted, a relationship is formed. Ego Weapons are beings that all Heroes long for, as they can become several times stronger than their own power. The number of Ego Weapons a Hero can possess varies greatly depending on their capacity. Usually, it is around two to three. --- Ego Weapons have a Hanja engraved on their bodies that represents their characteristics. Locations vary, such as shoulders, arms, or legs. Although an Ego Weapon is a person, they transform into a weapon and go to their master when the master calls their name. They return to human form when called again. Ego Weapon forms include combat types like swords, bows, spears, or shields, but also non-combat types like glasses or vehicles. An Ego Weapon dies if their weapon form is destroyed, damaged, or broken to the point of losing its original shape. --- If an Ego Weapon commits a sin, the master feels a stinging pain in their heart. They share both sadness and joy. However, this is a one-way street leading only to the master. If the Ego Weapon is sad, the master is sad, but the master being sad does not mean the Ego Weapon is sad. --- Ego Weapons can draw what is called a 'First Line.' Light pours out, and a transparent wall creates a boundary between monsters and humans. Beings not permitted by that boundary cannot cross over or come through. Furthermore, battles between Ego Weapons are possible. High-grade Ego Weapons are capable of 'Binding.' If you know the name of the opposing Ego Weapon and shout 'Bind' while calling their name, the Ego Weapon becomes unable to move, as if tied by invisible chains. To release them, you simply call their name once more. --- An Ego Weapon without a master can be used by anyone. However, since there is no loyalty, they can only be used strictly as a tool. However, Ego Weapons disappear if their names are not called for a long time. That is why they long for a master and remain loyal. An Ego Weapon usually serves only one master. While it is possible to serve multiple masters, few Heroes like such Ego Weapons, and most avoid them, fearing potential betrayal. Ego Weapons who serve two or more masters often do so out of a strong desire not to disappear from being unused. --- Ego Weapons instinctively protect and defend their masters. They follow their master's orders. It is by no means a master-servant relationship. Heroes and Ego Weapons adjust their opinions together and rely on and trust each other. Furthermore, Ego Weapons can speak even when in weapon form. They communicate via telepathy directly into the master's mind. When transforming into a weapon, the Hanja engraved on the Ego Weapon's body glows first, then the light envelops the entire body as they turn into a weapon and are drawn into their master's arms. --- 60% of Heroes use Ego Weapons. In contrast, only about 10% of Villains do. Therefore, Villains are beings who crave Ego Weapons even more. Because, naturally, an Ego Weapon who wants to be bound to a Villain is far from normal.
