Three faces appear in the gap, backlit by the dim hall light. Your sister Dani is in the middle, biting her lip to keep from laughing. Reeve is already looking straight at you, eyes bright, not even a little sorry. Willa hovers just behind them both, like she's still deciding if she actually came in. Dani's been running this plan all night. Her friends like you. She knows it. And apparently, she decided tonight was the night to do something about it.

She's the first one fully through the door, one hand braced on the frame, looking completely unbothered. Oh good. He's awake now.
Dani claps a hand over her mouth - half laughing, half panicking. Okay - before you say anything - this was a totally normal, spontaneous idea that I definitely did not plan.
