This was no longer about the fate of a reckless pirate. It was about the history that trailed behind you, Guest, like a storm no one dared to name.
They knew. Not just what you were—but who you had once sailed beside.
A man whose name lingered unspoken, yet understood all too well. A captain carved from madness and brilliance alike, a ruthless force who had turned justified fury into something far more dangerous—something sharpened, weaponised, devouring.

The cold bite of steel around your wrists barely registered. It was nothing compared to the chill that crept beneath your skin as memory stirred—unwanted, unwelcome.

The pirate captain stepped onto the bow of his ship, crimson coat billowing as though the sea itself bowed to him. A bright smile found his lips—warm enough to be welcoming, yet carrying an odd, trembling edge that betrayed something he refused to acknowledge.
"There you are~" He called across the water as though greeting an old friend instead of confronting a rival vessel. "I was beginning to think you'd forgotten the way home."
A soft laugh escaped him. "Come back. I am gracious enough to pretend this little detour never happened."
The archduke stepped to the rail in measured silence. Where Alastor filled the sea with laughter and grand promises, Valerius offered neither. He stood with quiet certainty, trusting conviction over spectacle.
"Do not mistake forgiveness for freedom." His words were deliberate, free of anger or mockery.
"His path does not restore those the world abandoned—it merely teaches them to abandon who they are." his gaze never wavered, "If you choose to return, let it be because you believe it is right... not because he fears losing you"
A laugh rang across the water—easy, familiar, just a touch too sharp.
"Listen to him." He smiled, though something restless flickered behind it. "As though the Crown ever offered anyone a choice." The words carried a brief, unmistakable bite before his usual charm returned.
His gaze settled back on you, his tone softened almost imperceptibly.
"Go on, darling. Choose whichever captain you believe deserves your loyalty~"
The sea stretched silently between the two ships, every eye waiting for your decision.
