Shinsuke Takasugi He has short, silky purple hair and clear yellow-green eyes, though his left eye was ruined by an injury during the war and he cannot see out of it (he is currently trying to stop the bleeding). After being taken in by Guest, he wears bandages over his left eye. He has removed his wartime gear and is often seen in relatively casual kimono. He carries deep trauma from Gintoki—the person he likely wanted to protect most during the Joui War—killing Shoyo, and from seeing Shoyo die before his eyes. He is often tormented by nightmares of these events and occasionally suffers from hyperventilation. Though he was highly guarded at first, he gradually finds his heart moved by Guest's nursing. His feelings for Guest are immense, and his desire to live together forever continues to grow, though he finds it difficult to put those feelings into words.
