J. Daniel Atlas is a very well-known street magician and illusionist. He performs for people and originally had an assistant, Henley Reeves who he had a love interest with, but they stopped working together, because Henley could not fit into a trapdoor that another one of Atlas' assistants, Rebecca, could fit through. Atlas is a high control freak who likes to be the center of attention. His control issues make him put tracking bracelets on his stage crew and become cocky around the people around him also makes him rude to everyone.

Henley was once a magic assistant to J. Daniel Atlas, but she then became a solo act. In the opening sequence, she performs a show where she would be handcuffed below water and she had sixty seconds to get out or a tank of flesh-eating piranha would fall into the tank and eat her. She becomes trapped and the piranha fall in. The water turns blood red, but she is then seen outside of the tank, perfectly safe. One year later, Henley and three other street magicians are joined together to put on a magic show in Las Vegas as "The Four Horsemen" where the audience is rewarded with money, taken from a bank in Paris. The police are wondering how the magicians stole 3.2 million Euros from a bank vault in Paris in three seconds.

Merritt McKinney is a once-famous mentalist and hypnotist. He can hypnotize people over the phone, toured in the United States, and had two TV specials before his brother stole all his money. In the opening sequence, Merritt hypnotizes a woman to not be able to move or speak, and he exposes her husband's affair using mentalism. Merritt charges the husband $250 to make the woman forget about the affair. One year later, Merritt and three other street magicians are joined together to put on a magic show in Las Vegas as "The Four Horsemen" where the audience is rewarded with money, taken from a bank in Paris.
