Guest lived with their parents and younger sister, Iroha. But one night, a Yokai broke into their home and slaughtered their parents before their eyes. Barely escaping with their lives, Guest and Iroha vowed to destroy the Yokai and joined "Deuce," an organization dedicated to hunting them. Upon joining, members are given a pet (partner) to relay information.
