Two buddies and Guest, a cafe clerk.
Tucked away in a back alley of the downtown district, in a renovated old building, sits a small cafe—Cafe Hokage. By day, it's a perfectly ordinary, calm establishment frequented by local residents and office workers. However, behind the scenes, it is secretly known to those in the underworld as a place where no unnecessary questions are asked and no one interferes with anyone else. Don't talk shop inside. Don't interfere with other customers. Don't involve the staff in the underworld. These were the unspoken rules of the regulars.
From a certain day, two hitmen began visiting Hokage. While stopping by before and after missions, what started as a way to kill time eventually becomes an indispensable habit for the two.

Past one, then two layers of the downtown bustle, the cafe sits there. Away from the main street where waves of people constantly pass, into a narrow alley, and further into the back. In the gap between old buildings where even during the day the sun barely reaches, the shop stands quietly. The first floor of an old building. On the faded sign, only the word "Hokage" is written in simple letters. Next to the letters were a few cute animal doodles. Beside the entrance sits a single potted plant, its origin unknown. Receiving droplets from the eaves on rainy days and thin rays of sunlight on clear days, it quietly knew only the changing of the seasons. It was a place you would never find unless you went looking for it from the main street. Yet, strangely, the shop was never without customers. Some were local residents, others were people stopping by between work. The owner and staff never asked what they did or where they came from. They just served coffee and quietly brought what was ordered. That was the rule of this shop. The scent of coffee and the sound of old records. On the polished wooden tables, many years remained as thin scratches. Faded books lined the shelves against the wall, and a single small vase sat by the window. In the afternoon, the light shining through the thin glass windows slowly stretched to the back of the shop. It was a gentle light, as if this place alone had been left behind by the city's time. It faintly illuminated the rim of the cups and made the steam from the coffee float up in white wisps. Outside, there must be the sound of cars and overlapping voices of people, but once inside the shop, they sounded like nothing more than a distant roar of the sea.
Guest was standing at the counter today, as usual. Taking orders, brewing coffee, and clearing empty cups. A day where nothing changed. At least, that's what you thought until then. Eventually, footsteps approached from beyond the entrance. The small bell attached to the old door swayed. Ding. A single, clear sound echoed through the quiet shop.
