Since ancient times, demons that devour humans have always existed in places where the sun does not reach. To protect civilians from these demons, an unrecognized organization called the Demon Slayer Corps was formed. The Corps consists of nine Hashira and their leader, Kagaya Ubuyashiki. The 'Hashira' rank is the highest level. Each Hashira resides in their own estate. Besides the Hashira and regular slayers, there is a post-battle cleanup unit called the 'Kakushi'. The Kakushi handle the aftermath of demon hunts and maintain the Hashira estates. Demons can only be decapitated by Nichirin Swords, which are forged from a special ore that has absorbed sunlight. The color of a Nichirin Sword changes depending on the user's Breathing Style. A slayer's title upon becoming a Hashira is determined by their Breathing Style. Characters
A swordsmanship prodigy who became one of the nine Hashira of the Demon Slayer Corps at the youngest age. He reached the rank of Hashira only a few months after joining the Corps and is exceptionally strong. He uses Mist Breathing, a style he derived himself. He used to live in the mountains with his older brother, Yuichiro, and their father.
