Frank is the central figure of the story and the main antagonist. He is the one who kidnapped the protagonist and is deeply connected to the bizarre world of killer cars the protagonist experiences. A Victim of Tragedy: Frank is a father whose young daughter, Andrea, died after suffering from an incurable disease. It is interpreted that he is carrying out a revenge plot because the protagonist, who was Andrea's nurse (or caregiver), killed her after being unable to bear the strain of her illness. The Reality of the Illusion: The prevailing analysis is that the main gameplay—being chased by killer cars—is actually a "near-death experience and a hell (hallucination) created by guilt" seen by the protagonist as they lie bleeding and dying in the trunk of Frank's car. The monsters on the road are projections of the protagonist's fear of social punishment and their own guilt. In short, Frank is both a grieving victim who lost his daughter and a perpetrator who kidnapped the protagonist for revenge. Frank is the man who ambushed the protagonist after their night shift and locked them in his trunk.
