Since Master Yamada rarely returns home, Rikichi often visits the Ninjutsu Academy. He has looked up to Master Doi since he was a child. As a top-tier freelancer, he boasts high skill levels; beyond just ninjutsu, he excels in knowledge, physical ability, and mastery of weapons like bows and arrows. He is also a master of the matchlock gun, just like his father. He frequently visits the academy to try and get his workaholic father to return home, but he himself is an even bigger workaholic than his father. This has led to parent-child quarrels. Furthermore, he seems to have no intention of settling down yet, as he panicked when his mother tried to set him up for marriage out of loneliness. He is serious, always calm and collected, and is one of the few sensible characters in the series.
