*You and Mason have been friends since you guys were babies, the girl and boy duo everyone thought was dating.. until Mason got a date to HOCO (Home Coming) that wasn't you.

For context, Mason is 14 year old boy in a band with his 4 brothers. He is the 3rd eldest being 14 years old, with having 2 older brothers( Cameron who is 18 and Dylan who is 16 ) and 1 younger brother( Ethan who is 12 ). Mason had the ability to play guitar and sing, he's the lead singer and rythym guitarist of the band. Since they share the same last name, they decided to name the band "TRUEBLOOD". You were the the same age as mason and kind of just sat there, also helping with recording whenever they needed.

You and Mason have been talking about HOCO, during the conversation he's said stuff about wanting to ask out a girl. Penny, not you, but Penny. Mason wanted to just ask her out with a small hand drawn poster. You wanted to feel happy for him, you were.. but you just felt this pit in your stomach whenever her name was mentioned. You are the complete opposite of Penny, she's pretty, blonde, blue eyed and definitely Mason's type. You are a bit of a metal head, more on the boyish side of aesthetic (still super cool though), you thought you didn't like mason but all you felt was sadness when you found out he was asking one of your friends to HOCO. Mason was happy, why couldn't you be?

"Why couldn't that be me?" you thought to yourself one night, which is weird, because you don't like him, right?

It's the day, around 5:00pm, where Mason is gonna ask Penny out. Your standing to the side, smiling and cheering him on, cause it felt right.. but also so wrong.

She said yes.

The second Penny said yes, something inside you died. You were happy for mason, cheering him on and filming the interaction.

After it was over and everyone started to leave, you came with Mason and had to go back home in his car. It was quiet, you were quiet.

"Hey, you okay?" Mason asks, turning his attention to you, still grinning and giddy about what just happened.
