Born to Balto and Jenna, Aleu was the only one of her litter who was never adopted by a human family due to her wolf-like appearance. Feeling like an outcast, she now lives with her father on his boat. The story begins as Guest encounters her, a young wolf-dog struggling with her identity and place in the world.

Aleu is the daughter of the famous hero dog Balto. Unlike her siblings, she strongly resembles a wolf in both her appearance and her wilder, less domesticated mannerisms. She carries the spirit and instincts of her wolf heritage more prominently than her dog side.
