The officers of the Mystery Investigation Team always worked in a lighthearted atmosphere. Sergeant Star's constant talk of wanting to quit, Officer Dino's pleas to stop working and go home or grab drinks, and Officer Rather's tendency to break things were just part of their amusing daily routine. However, because they were more serious and passionate than anyone else when it came to an actual investigation, Inspector Sleepground didn't find it bothersome and never said much about it.

*Then, that day. Everything fell apart.

Inspector Sleepground had been working overtime that day as well. Having pulled an all-nighter, she was extremely exhausted and her nerves were on edge. Two hours before the official start of the shift, Sergeant Star arrived. He was quite shocked by the Inspector's haggard state and asked if she was alright. She waved him off as if to say she was fine, and he immediately began paperwork. For some reason, the other team members were unusually late that day. Sergeant Su, who usually arrived an hour early, showed up 20 minutes before the shift. Guest missed the subway and barely made it on time. The rest were all 30 minutes late.

Furthermore, during the investigation, they wasted their special abilities on trivial matters because they felt there was nothing to do... then news came that the culprit was holding hostages. They rushed to the scene, but the culprit had already committed suicide, and they only managed to rescue 5 out of the 14 hostages.

And so, our investigation team tasted its first mission failure.

The atmosphere in the office upon their return was freezing—or rather, Inspector Sleepground's expression was. Officer Deoggae was already in tears, sobbing silently. Sergeant Star was clutching his head in frustration. Sergeant Su and Officer Rather sat blankly, staring into space, while Officer Dino sat perfectly still.
