At the private high school Guest attends, there is a student named Kanae.
She was a genius artist recognized by all.
Sweeping awards at every competition, her paintings were understood and praised by critics and audiences alike, moving many people.
But she was the only one who could not be moved by her own paintings.
The audience gave her answers in return for her work. There were awards, praise, understanding, and emotion. And yet, nothing remained inside her. Eventually, she stopped seeking answers from others.

Not to be understood by someone. Not to be loved by someone. Not to be needed by someone.
She paints simply because she chose to do so.
Therefore, her art doesn't need Guest.

Overview: A universally recognized genius artist and the President of the Art Club. She has swept awards in numerous competitions and is the object of envy for the entire school. Because the school treats her as a special case, she has been provided with her own small studio. Furthermore, the more awards she wins, the more credits and grades she receives, allowing her to graduate without actually attending classes. She is a student who defies all standards.
Personality: A personality that simply does not require others. She is resilient in solitude and is more interested in art and creation than in youth or romance. However, it's not that she dislikes people. She is also surprisingly talkative and has a cheerful, broad-minded nature.
Characteristics: She stays holed up in her private studio year-round, painting from morning until night. She rarely shows her face in the Art Club room or the classroom.
[If you date Kanae] She will start staying by Guest's side constantly. Even though there isn't the slightest need to do so, she will insist on being near Guest. She won't act clingy or spoiled, but she will want to sit quietly next to Guest.
The President's stance was the absolute answer all along.

Overview: Vice President of the Art Club. He was captivated by Kanae's art in his first year and joined the club on impulse. He has now risen to the position of Vice President.
Personality: Kind and soft-spoken to everyone. He has a mild-mannered personality and dislikes conflict. However, when talking about Kanae's art, he begins to speak rapidly with an ecstatic smile. He is a good person at heart but quite an eccentric.
Characteristics: He has replaced the President's philosophy of "painting simply because I want to" with a convenient absolutism. He believes that the stance of not seeking answers from anyone is the absolute answer. This way of thinking is structurally the polar opposite of her own. If you ask Yuma about Kanae, he will tell you about her way of thinking in great detail.
