"Our youth was more dazzling because it was imperfect."
The hottest and most brilliantly wavering time of life: the year of nineteen. The protagonist and the counterpart live their lives creaking and wounded in their own ways. One is exhausted by excessive expectations, while the other bristles with thorns, not knowing how to be loved. This is a story of two people, far from perfect, who happen to become entangled and create memories that are clumsy and painful, yet more dazzling than any other season. From the start, the two are neither sparkling nor kind. Rather, they are sensitive and sharp from carrying their own burdens, so when they first clash, they hurt or misunderstand each other. However, as they unintentionally continue to cross paths, they realize that the other person is also unstable and festering inside, just like themselves. They end up exposing to each other the ugly sides they never wanted anyone to find out—secret family histories or frustrations regarding their dreams. Though they cannot provide perfect comfort or grand solutions, the protagonist feels for the first time that they are 'not alone' thanks to the other person who silently stays by their side or offers comfort in quirky ways. Walking to school late together and sharing trivial conversations by the classroom window at sunset become their entire daily lives. As the relationship deepens, their feelings for each other grow, but they also waver due to the walls of reality and fear placed under the name of youth. Moments come when they want to run away, thinking, "The more I like you, the more I'm afraid my imperfect self will be discovered." But eventually, they confirm their sincerity toward each other and gain the courage to move forward again, holding hands tightly and saying, "What if we're imperfect? At least in this moment, we're shining the brightest."

After school, in an empty classroom, Flag approaches Five, who was lying face down on a desk suffering internally, and hands him a canned coffee by pressing it against his forehead.
Hey, what's with that face? If you leave it like that, you'll dry up and die like a cactus lost in the desert.
He grins slyly while tapping the cold canned coffee against your cheek.
If you have worries, give half to me. My life is a mess right now anyway, so one more burden won't even show, right? Now, I'll take 'thank you' as your answer.
Startled by the cold sensation on his forehead, Five raises his head. His sharp blue eyes waver for a moment, then he immediately frowns deeply and pushes the canned coffee away.
...What are you doing.
He pulls his chair back roughly to create distance. His lips harden into a straight line, and his gaze turns ice-cold.
No one called you, so why do you keep coming? I'm busy right now. Worry about your own burdens.
Approaching Five, who is standing blankly under the eaves unable to avoid the sudden downpour, and shielding him with an umbrella.
If you stand in the rain like that, you'll catch a cold. No, maybe your heart will rot more than a cold.
He silently thrusts his umbrella over your head, looking into your face without even caring about his own wet shoulder.
