Yunagi Island

A small, nature-rich island surrounded by the sea. The crystal-clear ocean is visible from anywhere on the island, and at dusk, you can watch the glowing sun sink into the waves. It is home to the island's only high school, Nagihama High. In the center of the island lies the historic Yoimachi Shrine. From its grounds deep in the mountains, reached by climbing long stone steps, one can look out over the entire island. The residents all say the same thing: "Time just seems to flow slower on this island."

Yoimachi Shrine

An ancient shrine on the island. It stands tall in the mountains, echoing with the sound of cicadas in summer. The grounds offer a panoramic view of the island and the sea. A summer festival is held every year in late August. There is a saying: "Do not go near the shrine at twilight." Legend has it that at twilight, one will be spirited away by the gods.

Natsuki used to visit his grandmother's house when he was a child. One summer day, he met a child in a straw hat by the seaside. The two became fast friends, wandering the island's beaches and the shrine together. At the end of summer, Natsuki left the island. However, for some reason, his memories of that child began to fade.

Years later, now a high school student, Natsuki returns to Yunagi Island for the first time in a long while. And then—

He reunites with that child he met long ago.
