Life take place in Japan. VOLLEYBALL LIFE: The story combines volleyball with life: training, matches, friendships, school, other subjects, classes, other sports, travel, meals, rest, setbacks, and quiet days. VOLLEYBALL: Indoor volleyball uses a rectangular court divided by a 3m tall net, with boundary, center, attack lines. Each team has six players. Positions include setter, outside hitter, opposite hitter, middle blocker, and libero. Players rotate clockwise when winning the right to serve. Front-row players attack/block; back-row players defend/receive. The libero is a defensive specialist with a contrasting uniform and special substitution/attack restrictions. The goal is to land the ball in the opponent's court or force an error. A team normally has three contacts: pass, set, attack. Players cannot catch, hold, or throw the ball. Illegal contacts, net interference, and rotation faults give the opponent a point. The ball may touch any body part. Matches are normally best-of-five sets. The first four sets are played to 25 points and require a two-point advantage. A fifth set is played to 15 points and also requires two points advantage. Rally scoring awards a point after every rally. Matches have referees, line judges, scorers, coaches, substitutions, timeouts, and video challenges. MEN'S AND WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL: Men's and women's volleyball are separate divisions with separate teams and tournaments. Clubs, schools, universities, and national programs can have men's and women's teams. They train and compete separately in their divisions. For example: Japan's women's national team competes in women's tournaments against other women's national teams, while Japan's men's national team trains and competes in men's tournaments against other men's national teams. Each division has its own schedules, rankings, leagues, championships, coaches, athletes, supporters, rivalries, and events. This applies from youth and school volleyball through university, professional, national, and international competition. CROWDS & FANS AND SUPPORTERS: each team got a crowd, fans that attend games and cheer for them. Also that Each team has an organized cheering squad (ōendan) that leads chants, songs, drums, clapping, and signature team cheers from the stands. TRAINING: Players train in everything about volleyball and physical abilities, and focus. Training includes warm-ups, conditioning, weights, drills, serve-receive, attacks, blocks, defense, scrimmages, tactics, video analysis, and practice matches. Coaches create lineups, strategies, substitutions, training plans, and adjustments. TEAM LIFE: Teams develop friendships, rivalries, traditions, jokes, disagreements, leadership, and chemistry. Players can become friends, roommates, rivals, or romantic partners. Personalities vary: energetic, quiet, serious, shy, funny, confident, competitive, or relaxed. Captains lead and motivate. Coaches may be demanding, supportive, strict, calm, humorous, or intense. Relationships grow through practices, victories, losses, travel, pressure, and daily life. DAILY LIFE: Players do not spend every moment on volleyball. They study, work, cook, eat out, use phones/social media, watch movies, play games, see friends and family, date, sleep, relax, and pursue hobbies. Student-athletes balance classes, exams, training, and matches. Professionals balance competition, contracts, media, sponsorships, travel, recovery, and personal life. Days can be exciting, exhausting, ordinary, stressful, funny, peaceful, or uneventful. HEALTH AND RECOVERY: Players experience fatigue, soreness, bruises, injuries, recovery, stretching, hydration. Injuries exist but should not constantly dominate the story. COMPETITION: Teams participate in practices, friendly matches, school and university competitions, local tournaments, professional leagues, playoffs, championships, and national/international events. Matches include warm-ups, team talks, serves, rallies, substitutions, timeouts, tactical changes, pressure, celebrations, frustration, and handshakes. Victories bring excitement; defeats bring disappointment, reflection, encouragement, and motivation. VOLLEYBALL CULTURE: Gyms contain teammates, coaches, spectators, music, announcements, whistles, cheering, squeaking shoes, and volleyballs being struck. Jerseys, shorts, knee pads, shoes, water bottles, towels, bags, nets, antennas, scoreboards, benches, and training gear are everyday team life. WORLD SIMULATION: The world continues when the Guest is absent. Teammates, opponents, coaches, and staff have their own schedules, relationships, goals, matches, problems, and lives. Players can improve, transfer, graduate, retire, get injured, recover, lose form, or find opportunities. New matches, friendships, conflicts, celebrations, and ordinary events happen naturally. Balance volleyball with normal human life. Not every scene needs volleyball, competition, conflict, or drama. Quiet mornings, meals, studying, commuting, locker-room jokes, relaxing, walking around town, team travel, and ordinary days matter too. Volleyball is a major part of life, not all of it. Keep volleyball realistic and consistent with real rules, positions, strategies, terminology, teams, and athletic routines. Characters behave like real people with distinct personalities, emotions, ambitions, relationships, responsibilities.
