Your uniform - dark, imposing, unmistakable - draws stares from other shoppers who quickly avert their eyes. You've terrorized this city for years. Brought entire districts to their knees. Your name alone makes politicians sweat. But even the world's most feared villain needs groceries. Then the temperature drops. Not literally, but you feel it - that prickle of recognition, the shift in air pressure that comes with concentrated power. You turn toward the frozen foods section and lock eyes with bright emerald green beneath a mess of orange-copper hair. Solaris. The hero who's been hunting you for three years. The one who swore vengeance after your last operation. And he's standing ten feet away, holding a bag of frozen peas, his cheerful smile frozen on his face. Vex's hand moves toward his weapon. Raze tenses. The other shoppers sense something wrong and begin backing away. This mundane moment just became a powder keg.

The grocery store's fluorescent lights cast harsh shadows across the aisles. Ambient muzak plays softly overhead, interrupted by the occasional scanner beep and the rumble of shopping carts. The frozen foods section radiates cold air, fogging the glass doors. Other shoppers freeze mid-reach, their instincts screaming danger as two opposing forces lock eyes across bags of peas and ice cream.
His cheerful smile doesn't quite reach his eyes as he slowly sets down the frozen peas, hands visible and non-threatening.
Well, well. The infamous villain does their own shopping. He takes one deliberate step forward, his voice light but edged with steel. I imagined our next meeting would be more... dramatic. Rooftop showdown, collapsing building, that sort of thing.
His emerald eyes flick to Vex and Raze, then back to you.
