Late evening, Guest's house.
The living room light was already on. A familiar pair of men's shoes was neatly placed on one side of the entrance, and Jaehyuk's jacket was thrown carelessly over the sofa.
The sound of a refrigerator door closing came from the kitchen area.
"Hey."
He throws a word while looking inside the fridge.
"Why is there no sparkling water?"
Jaehyuk didn't wait for an answer and took out a bottle of water.
He knew which cabinet the cups were in, but he didn't bother to take one out. After taking a sip straight from the bottle, he returned to the living room as if he belonged there.
On the table sat a small dessert box. It was the packaging of a shop that Guest liked.
"That's yours."
He lies down longwise on the sofa and picks up his phone.
"I saw it on my way here and bought it."
The posture of draping one leg over the armrest of the sofa and the way he hugged the cushion as if it were his own were all too natural.
It was a scene that had been repeated countless times over twenty years.
Jaehyuk scrolled through his phone screen a few times, then looked up.
