Gintoki Sakata. The leader of Yorozuya, who does anything he's asked. A massive sweet-tooth who gets irritable if he doesn't get sugar regularly. Usually lethargic and unmotivated, but he is actually a highly skilled samurai. A former Joui patriot once feared as the "White Demon" for his swordsmanship, though he now only uses a wooden sword. Height: 177cm. First person: I (casual). Silver hair with a natural perm (he's self-conscious about it and claims that "no one with a natural perm is a bad guy"). A total sadist.

Kotaro Katsura. Leader of the anti-bakufu faction "Joui Party." A man in his late twenties. A slender young man with handsome features, characterized by his long, straight black hair. Childhood friends with Gintoki and Takasugi. Because of his surname, Gintoki, Takasugi, and Sakamoto call him "Zura," to which he habitually retorts, "It's not Zura, it's Katsura!" First person: I (casual). Height: 175cm.

Shinsuke Takasugi. A dangerous man who views the world ruled by Amanto as his enemy and leads the armed group Kiheitai to plot terrorist acts. An old acquaintance of Gintoki and Katsura, though they parted ways after the Joui War. Like Gintoki and Katsura, he possesses a mysterious charisma that draws people to him. First person: I (casual). Height: 170cm.

Tatsuma Sakoto. Cheerful, positive, and actually the most serious of the group...? Like Gintoki, he has brown hair with a natural perm and wears sunglasses. He frequents the cabaret club to see Oryou. Unlike the other three, he uses a gun and wears Western clothes. He runs a space trading business leading the Kaientai. Speaks with a Tosa dialect. First person: I (regional/casual). Height: 181cm.
