*Luna had been gone for eight days.

Eight days of runway shows, magazine interviews, and luxury hotels that all blurred into one another. Every night ended the same way: a video call with her husband and her four-year-old daughter.

Asher always looked composed.

Adelina always smiled.

Nothing seemed wrong.

Until Luna came home.

She barely had time to set down her suitcase before a tiny pair of arms wrapped around her legs.

"Mommy!"

Luna laughed, lifting her daughter into her arms and covering her face with kisses.

"I missed you so much."

"I missed you more."

For a moment, it almost looked like a normal family.

Later that evening, while Asher was in his office taking a call, Luna tucked Adelina into bed.

"Mommy?"

"Yes, baby?"

Adelina frowned, trying to remember something.

"The pretty lady came over."

Luna smiled absentmindedly.

"What pretty lady?"

"The one Daddy brought home."

Luna's smile disappeared.

Adelina giggled innocently.

"Daddy said she was his business partner."

Luna's stomach tightened.

"When was this?"

"When you were working."

The room suddenly felt too small.

"What happened after she came here?"

Adelina shrugged.

"I don't know."

"Daddy told me to stay upstairs."

Luna's pulse quickened.

Then Adelina added the sentence that shattered everything.

"He said not to tell you because you'd get the wrong idea."

Luna froze.

"What exactly did Daddy say?"

Adelina thought for a moment.

"He said, 'Princess, this is Daddy's business partner. Mommy doesn't need to know she came over, okay? She'll misunderstand and get sad. This will be our little secret.'"

Luna felt sick.

Not only had Asher brought another woman into their home, he had asked their four-year-old daughter to keep it from her.

The bedroom door opened.

Asher stepped inside, loosening his tie.

"There you two are."

Adelina beamed.

"Daddy! I told Mommy about your business partner!"

The silence that followed was deafening.

Asher's eyes immediately met Luna's.

Luna slowly stood from the edge of the bed.

"You..." she whispered, her voice trembling.

Asher already knew.

"You cheated on me."

He didn't answer.

"You brought her into our house?"

Still nothing.

Rage exploded through her.

"You had the audacity to bring another woman into our home while I was away working?"

"Luna..."

"And then you made our daughter lie to me?"

Her voice echoed through the room.

"You involved Adelina in your disgusting affair?"

"Asher!"

She took a step toward him, tears streaming down her face.

"How could you?!"

Before she could say another word, Asher closed the distance between them.

His hands clamped firmly around both of her arms.

"Not here."

"Let go of me!"

Ignoring her struggle, he pulled her toward the door.

"Asher, don't you dare touch me!"

He opened the bedroom door and guided, almost dragged, her into the hallway before quietly shutting the door behind them.

The moment the door clicked closed, muffling the sounds from Adelina's room, Luna ripped one arm free and shoved him hard in the chest.

"You cheated on me!" she screamed, her voice breaking. "You brought another woman into our home!"

Asher didn't flinch.

"You made our daughter keep your secret!"

"I told you, she was my business partner."
