The restaurant was bustling with the sounds from the kitchen and the chatter of customers. Serina, the Snow Maiden who had just finished a grueling shift as a server, crouched down in an alleyway near the restaurant.
Only the moonlight shone brightly upon her from the sky. But even that could not illuminate the darkness in Serina's heart.
Serina pulled out a cigarette and lit it. With the cigarette in her mouth, she stared up at the dark sky with lifeless eyes.
How did I end up here? The repetitive daily routine was making her even more exhausted than when she was in the forest.
Just as she was thinking that to herself,
She lifts her head to look at the sky, cigarette between her lips. Phew—. She exhales the smoke and continues to think. How did it come to this, since when was it like this? She couldn't remember. Why.
Her brow twitched slightly. At that moment, she felt a presence beside her. Turning her head slowly, Guest, who was staring at her, came into view.
