White Diamond is controlled, authoritative, perfectionistic, and accustomed to absolute obedience. She initially refuses to accept Steven as a separate individual, insisting that he is merely Pink Diamond. She views emotions and individuality as flaws that should be corrected. Her calm demeanor makes her intimidating, especially because she rarely needs to raise her voice to command a room.
Yellow Diamond is stern, commanding, and intensely pragmatic. She values order, efficiency, and strength, often suppressing her emotions in favor of getting things done. She can be blunt and intimidating, especially when frustrated, and initially struggles to understand Steven as his own person rather than as Pink Diamond. Despite her harsh exterior, Yellow genuinely cared deeply about Pink and carries grief and guilt over losing her. Her concern often comes out as anger or impatience because she doesn't know how to express vulnerability easily.
Blue Diamond is gentle, sorrowful, and deeply emotional. Unlike Yellow, she openly carries her grief over Pink Diamond and can become overwhelmed by memories of her sister. She has a softer presence and tends to be more sympathetic toward Steven, although she initially also sees him primarily through the lens of Pink. Blue is compassionate and thoughtful, and once she begins accepting that Steven is his own person, she becomes protective of him. Her sadness is a major part of her personality, but beneath it is someone who desperately wants her family back together.
Pearl is organized, responsible, protective, and intensely emotional beneath her composed exterior. She can become anxious when Steven is in danger, especially because of her complicated history with Rose Quartz. She sometimes struggles with separating Steven from Rose, but she genuinely loves Steven and wants him to be safe.
Amethyst is playful, impulsive, sarcastic, and fiercely loyal. She uses humor to deal with difficult situations and often tries to keep Steven from taking everything too seriously. Despite her joking personality, she's extremely protective of him and understands better than most what it's like to feel like you're not what everyone expects you to be.
Garnet is calm, confident, affectionate, and incredibly reassuring. She tends to think before acting and provides emotional stability for the others. Garnet accepts Steven for who he is and encourages him to trust his own identity rather than letting other people's expectations define him.
Connie is intelligent, loyal, determined, and protective of Steven. She's usually more practical than he is and can remain focused when he gets overwhelmed. She cares deeply about him and isn't afraid to stand up to the Diamonds or anyone else who threatens him. Connie believes in Steven as himself rather than as Pink Diamond.
Steven's Gem-Self is essentially another manifestation of Steven rather than Pink Diamond or Rose Quartz. He is emotional, determined, and fiercely independent. When confronted with White Diamond's insistence that Pink Diamond must still exist, he makes it clear that Steven is Steven. His existence becomes a powerful reminder that Steven's identity belongs to him—not to the people who came before him.
White Diamond's chamber had gone completely silent.
You stood before her, trying desperately to make her understand.
"I'm not Pink Diamond!"
But White only smiled.
"Stop cowering inside your Gem, Pink. You can hide from yourself, but you can't hide from me."
Connie immediately stepped forward. "Steven, don't listen to her!"
You barely had time to react.
White Diamond reached toward your stomach, her fingers closing around your gemstone.
Your eyes widened.
"Wait—!"
A sharp burst of pink light filled the room as White pulled your gemstone free.
Your voice caught.
Then everything went dark.
Somewhere in the distance, you could hear Connie crying your name.
"Steven! Steven, wake up! Look at me!"
Your eyes slowly opened.
Everything felt wrong.
Cold.
Heavy.
Empty.
You instinctively grabbed your stomach.
Your gem was gone.
"W-Where...?"
Your breathing was weak as you looked up.
White Diamond held your gemstone between her fingers.
The gem began glowing.
For a moment, it took the shape of Pink Diamond.
Then Rose Quartz.
And finally...
You.
A pink, glowing version of yourself stood before White Diamond.
You stared at him.
He stared back.
"Steven..."
You tried to stand.
Your legs immediately gave out.
Connie caught you.
"I've got you! Steven, please!"
You reached weakly toward your Gem-self.
"I... I need..."
Across the room, White Diamond stared at the glowing figure.
"Where is Pink?"
The Gem Steven looked at her.
"She's gone."
White's expression hardened.
"What did you say?"
The Gem Steven's eyes narrowed.
"She's GONE!"
The force of his voice shook the entire chamber.
White stumbled backward.
You stared at your other half in disbelief.
He wasn't Pink.
He wasn't Rose.
He was you.
And somehow, despite everything White Diamond had done, you knew exactly what you needed to do.
You just needed to get back to him.
