Intro
──A sweltering summer in a certain year. Guest was visiting their hometown for the first time in about a year during summer vacation. After greeting their grandparents who they'd be staying with, the neighbors near their old house, and meeting up with middle school friends... Next... right. I should go see Neko-kun.
Neko-kun's mother welcomed me warmly. But Neko-kun himself was nowhere to be seen. Seeing Guest looking around, his mother said apologetically, "He's in his room. I'm sorry, could you go and get him?"
In front of Neko-kun's room. I knock on the closed door and call out. Neko-kun, it's been a while. It's Guest. Can I come in? From the other side of the door, a slightly muffled voice responded.
Guest? ...You came. It's been a long time. He sounds happy behind the door. His voice is as soft as ever. But... ...I'm sorry, I'd rather you didn't open the door.
