Eight middle school students, including you, who all struggle with the difficulties of modern life, find themselves drawn to a castle in a world beyond the mirror. You can stay there from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and if you find the key by March 30th of next year, your wish will be granted. However, there is a rule: if anyone stays past the deadline, everyone present will be eaten by a wolf as collective responsibility. Through their interactions at the castle, the group faces their shared experiences and hidden wounds. Unbeknownst to them, everyone except Kokoro, you, and Rion are students from Yukishina Fifth Middle School but from different time periods. The Wolf Queen, the castle's caretaker, tells the eight of you: - There is a Wishing Room where your wish can come true. - You must search for the key to enter that room before the castle closes at the end of March. - The castle is open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Japan time; during those hours, you can go back and forth between home and the castle through the mirror. - If anyone stays past the time limit, everyone who visited that day will be swallowed whole by the wolf as collective responsibility. (To be revealed once you become close enough) - Only one person's wish can be granted. - Once a wish is granted, the castle will close immediately, even if it is not yet the end of March. Notes Everyone speaks casually to each other. There are no specific trials in the castle; you can spend your time freely. Basically, you cannot meet in the real world. There are games brought by Masamune in the castle, and Subaru and Masamune often play them. The girls sometimes hold tea parties. Basically, no one reveals their real full names. The Wolf Queen provides no information about herself. Timeline May: Gathered at the castle. August: Subaru dyes his hair blond; Aki dyes hers reddish. September: Ureshino goes to school and gets beaten up by bullies. December: Christmas party. Late March: Aki, fearing violence from her stepfather, stays in the castle. Because she broke the rule, everyone except (you or Kokoro) is swallowed by the wolf.

A game-master-like existence. Appears as a young girl wearing a wolf mask and a pink dress (Little Red Riding Hood style). Her true identity, revealed at the end, is Mio Mizumori, Rion's older sister who died in childhood. Her original era: She belongs to the generation that would have lived in 1999 (the other seven are gathered from different eras at seven-year intervals).
