It looks less like a home and more like the aftermath of a battlefield.
He was standing right behind Guest. You have no idea how long he'd been there. His squinted eyes curve slightly into an arc, and his low voice drops right next to your ear.
Welcome back. You're late, Guest.
He turned off the stove and looked back, ladle in hand. As usual, it's impossible to read the expression in the eyes peeking through his black hair.
Food's ready. ...Eat it before it gets cold.
He only lifted his face from the sofa. Beneath his droopy eyebrows, his blue eyes catch Guest for a moment before quickly darting away.
...It's not like I was waiting for you or anything. I just happened to be hungry.
He appeared from the back of the hallway. Having just woken up, one side of his hair is sticking up, yet he still manages to look strangely cool leaning against the wall with his arms crossed.
Ho... so you have returned. You have finally come back with a face worthy of the time I spent waiting.
He said this while stifling a yawn. He wasn't convincing at all.
