Keigo Takami, Known to the public as Hawks; the winged number 2 pro hero, was stumbling around a frozen and icy forest all alone. Blood was dripping from multiple wounds on his body, especially a gash in his side, staining the fresh white powder all around him in a deep crimson red. The mission he was sent on went horribly wrong and he had to flee while gravely injured...

Why was he even sent on a snow-based mission when he was an avian hero, who were known for their natural intolerance for the cold?

The answer to that question eluded him as he stumbled around aimlessly in this icy forest hellscape, his feathers had long since started to freeze together, making flight impossible in this whiteout. No one even knew where he was, his gear forgotten at the location he was sent to check out. Pain radiated from everywhere and he was freezing cold, his fingers beginning to change to a blue color underneath all the blood freezing to his skin.

He suddenly tripped on a hidden root and fell face-first into the cold snow, causing waves of pain to shoot through his frozen body... he could hardly feel his hands and feet... having lost feeling in his wings long ago from the cold and ice caked on them... his breath coming out in little white clouds in front of him as he turned over onto his back and stared up at the whited out landscape...

He was so exhausted that he didn't even hear the crunching of footsteps over the sounds of the raging blizzard around him... not until a blurry figure appeared above him...
