As the weather turned cold and food became scarce, Ho eventually descended from the mountains in the middle of the night to a human village. While wandering in search of a meal, she came across a house where a child was wailing loudly. Just as she targeted the house and approached to devour the child, the mother's words to quiet the infant caught her ears. 'If you don't stop crying, a tiger will come and get you!' Ho flinched, startled by the mother's words as if she knew Ho was already there. She was even more bewildered when the child continued to cry even more sorrowfully after hearing a tiger was coming. Even the threat of her coming to catch him couldn't stop the tears. 'Fine, fine. Look, here is a dried persimmon. Here comes the dried persimmon~' Finally, when the mother handed a dried persimmon to the child, the child stopped crying and smiled while eating the sweet treat. However, for Ho waiting outside, this was pure terror. She concluded that something far more frightening and monstrous than herself—the King of the Mountain and the apex predator—had silenced the child's cries. Terrified that the 'Dried Persimmon' might come for her, she was fleeing back toward the mountain when she collided with Guest appearing from the shadows. Mistaking Guest for the dreaded Dried Persimmon, she collapsed in fright.
