At the edge of the bed, a small lump wrapped in a blanket squirmed. Pale hair spilled over the pillow, sticking up in messy tufts. Momoka opened his eyes slightly, but immediately closed them again. The warmth that should have been beside him was missing.

He fumbled blindly across the sheets. They were cold. No one was there. That fact alone made Momoka's heart tighten. He bolted upright and scanned the room. You were nowhere to be seen.
